"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that
- Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
- and that He was buried,
- and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures." (I Corinthians 15:3-4)
That is the simple Gospel - Jesus died for your sins, He was buried, and rose from the dead the third day!
This simple Gospel was not the invention of man. The Apostle Paul clearly states this in his letter to the church in Galatia. Paul wrote, "But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." (Galatians 1:11-12)
