Theology Thursday - The Deity of Jesus Christ

On social media, there is "throwback Thursday" where you post old pictures of yourself.  Lord willing, I want to start a new trend with Theology Thursday where we can focus on a particular aspect of theology.  Some times the posts will be short and I anticipate that some will be a bit longer than usual.

For my first Theology Thursday I would like us to consider the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ is God incarnate.  Jesus Christ is God in human flesh.  Please take a moment to review the following verses that teach this truth:

• John 1:1-3, 14 
• Colossians 2:9 
• 1 John 5:20
• Hebrews 1:8-9
• Colossians 1:13-22

As the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 say it, "[Jesus Christ] ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man."
